Admission Information
Applicants for admission to the Master of Arts in Art History program are normally expected to have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a B average (3.0 GPA). Applicants must apply online to the Graduate School AND fill out the paper application form to the Art History program. The following items are required for evaluation by the Art History Graduate Admissions Committee:
- a completed University graduate application form with application fee
- a completed application to the program
- transcripts of all college or university including all undergraduate credit and graduate credit if applying as a transfer student
- 3 letters of recommendation from former professors or others qualified to judge the applicant's academic potential and ability to work successfully at the graduate level
- an essay that includes an intellectual biography, educational objectives, qualifications for admission to graduate study in Art History, and reasons for applying to the program at the University of Cincinnati
- a sample research paper
- a resume
- GRE scores
- International applicants must score 600 on the Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL)
Application Deadline
The application deadline is February 1 of each year, to begin studies the following September.
