2009 Wolfstein Travel Fellowships Announced

Every year, the School of Fine Arts selects several juniors and first-year graduate students to receive the Wolfstein Travel Fellowship to fund either national or international travel. The traveling fellowships are awarded on a competitive basis and based on submission of travel itineraries and statements of relevance by qualified applicants.

The selected candidates for 2009 include two juniors: Will Henry who will be traveling to Amsterdam, and Samantha Messer who will be going to London, Paris, and Amsterdam.

The graduates students for 2009 include: Nicki Davis, who will visit Berlin and Venice, Christopher Hammerlein will travel to Egypt, Chase Melendez proposed to go to Barcelona, Rome, Berlin, Cairo, and Paris, Anthony Wolking will travel to China, and Martin Zeinway will be an artist in residence in Prague.

Upon returning to UC in the fall, they will present their findings, results, and impressions of the time spent abroad.

In winter quarter of next year (2010), the fine arts program will accept applications for the 2010 Wolfstein Travel Fellowship. Any fine arts junior undergraduate or first-year graduate student may apply.
