Pamela Thomas is an independent filmmaker whose presentation will be "Race Movies: A Presentation, the Early Age of Black American Cinema." The presentation will include a screening of her film, Midnight Ramble: Oscar Micheaux and the Story of Race Movies followed by a discussion.

Charles Burroughs is a cultural historian who has largely worked in art history departments, but whose disregard for disciplinary boundaries is evident in his current position, as Acting Chair of a Classics department, and in his long-term activity as director of interdisciplinary programs. His presentation is entitled, "The Political Primavera: Lust, Money, and the Foundations of Society." Read more about his upcoming lecture (pdf).
