Design Foundations
The goal of the Foundation Studies program in the School of Design is to provide all first year students with a solid foundation in the fundamentals of design. It consists of three-quarter sequences in:
Drawing
The drawing program provides students with a fundamental approach to understanding perspective proportion, and lighting, in accurately depicting 3-dimensional space.
Color/Form/Space
The color/form/space sequence allows students to explore the relationships of the theory and perception of color, compositional issues and 3-dimensional space.
Digital Fundamentals
The digital fundamentals sequence builds on the concepts covered in the design and drawing sequences, while exploring new forms of visualization in raster, vector, web, and time-based media.
