Judith S. Koroscik Graduate Fellowship
The creation of the Judith S. Koroscik Graduate Fellowship will be a lasting legacy to a woman who exemplifies the best qualities in academic leadership. Judith has significantly impacted the College during her tenure and supporting this fellowship is your chance to insure her legacy will be acknowledged, celebrated and continued.
During Judith's tenure as Dean (2001-2007) she was unique in creating a network of university and corporate partnerships, combining internal college management and external networking. Judith responded to a need to strengthen the graduate program in support of faculty research to complement our recognized co-op undergraduate programs. The Judith S. Koroscik Graduate Fellowship will produce graduates better prepared to solve the complex issues that society and corporations face in today's inter-connected global economy. Thanks to Judith's support, our diverse graduate student body, while centered in DAAP, will be working in multi-disciplinary teams on projects connected to corporate and social organizations. This combination of experience will enable them to make significant contributions to their respective fields now and long after they graduate. A lead gift of $50,000 was given by Eva (BS Design 1966) and Lynn Maddox. The goal is $250,000.

Named Endowed Scholarship
The minimum dollar amount for an endowed scholarship fund is $50,000. An endowment stipulates that the principal remains intact and income is used to fund the established endowment (in this case, a scholarship). This allows a donor's gift to have a much greater impact than if it was spent all at once. Because the principal remains intact, an endowment is a gift in perpetuity - providing a lasting legacy for the university and a permanent memorial to the individual(s) for whom it is in memory. Donors will be invited to the DAAP Annual Scholarship Benefactors Program and Reception to meet the recipient of their scholarship.

Endowed Faculty Positions
The best students are attracted to DAAP because of its outstanding faculty and individuals who are at the top of their career. Each of our four schools is led by professionals who are dedicated to the educational process and who are nationally recognized for their own contributions in the fields of design, architecture and interior design, art, and planning. DAAP is actively seeking funding to endow positions in each of its four schools. Endowed positions are essential in attracting and retaining the best candidates to the College's highest offices and to reward those professors by giving them the resources to operate their programs at the highest academic levels.
Endowed Professorships are living memorials to the donor's belief in intellectual values and social responsibility. Donors who choose to endow a faculty position recognize that their gift will make a lasting, living contribution and strengthen the core of the University.
Endowed Professorships are the most significant awards bestowed upon tenured faculty. The income from these permanently invested funds help provide for salary, benefits, and research support, and provides a long-term commitment that often enables these outstanding educators to pursue projects at the cutting-edge of educational development and research. Endowed Professorships help recruit leading professors, widening the University's breadth of talent and securing a solid education for its students, who ultimately reap the benefits of such a gift.

Carl H. Monzel Endowed Professorship
The Carl H. Monzel Professorship of Architecture was established in 2006 by BHDP Architecture to honor the memory of one of the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning's finest alumni, Carl H. Monzel, BARC 1975.
When fully developed, the endowment will support a professorship, committed to development and promotion of the Sustainable Design Initiative in SAID. Endowed Professorships are a hallmark of excellence in the community of higher learning. By joining with us in supporting the establishment of the Carl H. Monzel Professorship, you join the company of distinguished philanthropists who have made this important commitment to strengthen education at the University of Cincinnati for the coming generations.
