Jodi Kushins grew up, was educated, and taught high school on the east coast before journeying to the Midwest for advanced studies in art education at The Ohio State University. She has experience supervising student art educators, teaching about cultural and technological issues in art education, and preparing elementary classroom teachers to integrate arts-based learning into their work with young children.

In her spare time, she works with community organizations pursuing arts and environmental initiatives in Columbus, OH, where she lives with her husband Dan and two step-children, George and Rosa.
