Degree Requirements
Students must complete 164 lecture hours and at least 30 studio hours for a total of 200 credit hours for graduation. They must also complete 6 quarters of mandatory professional practice (co-op) and receive a satisfactory (S) for all required work quarters.
Students must obtain a minimum overall average of 2.0 and, in addition, must have at least a 2.0 average for the senior year to be eligible for graduation. In order to be eligible for graduation with honors, a student must have earned at least a 3.6 grade point average.
Course Work
Urban Planning course work consists of five major tracks:
- General Education 60 credit hours that include freshman English, history, arts and humanities electives, math and natural sciences electives.
- Social Sciences Includes Introduction to Sociology (6 credit hours), Introduction to Economics (9 credit hours), Social Justice and the City (3 credit hours), and Social Science Electives (9 credit hours)
- Planning Skills and Methods 29 credit hours that include computer courses, statistics, mediation, etc.
- Planning Lectures and Seminars 3 credit hours
- Planning Studios 30 credit hours
Total 200 credit hours
