Specializations
Each MCP student must select a planning specialization. This requirement can be satisfied by completing five courses in one of the planning areas listed below:
- Economic Development
- Environmental Planning
- International Development
- Physical Planning
- Urban Design
The courses to satisfy this requirement will be selected by the student with the advice and consent of the Graduate Program Director and the student's faculty adviser. Students may also elect a certificate program in Historic Preservation to fulfill the planning specialization requirement.
In addition, students in the accelerated MCP program may develop their own specialization with the approval of their faculty adviser. This enables mid-career professionals to concentrate on an area that would be most beneficial to their career development.
