The Segoe Symposium on Smart Growth is in its sixth year. Each year the School of Planning organizes a series of panel discussions on topics of interest to the Cincinnati Metropolitan Region. The speakers on these panels include faculty of the University of Cincinnati and other surrounding universities in the region, regional practitioners and activists, local and state level politicians, as well as national level experts.
The Symposium Series takes place on the University of Cincinnati campus in the evening and free to the public. Parking is available in the campus garages (standard fee) or on the streets off campus (no fee).
The Series has hosted a wide range of topics, including transportation, affordable housing, farmland preservation, state level policy, and costs of sprawl. Most of the Symposiums are designed to offer a wide range of viewpoints on the topic in order to stimulate public dialogue.
