The University of Cincinnati is incredibly excited to be participating in the 2007 Solar Decathlon. We understand how important it is for the world to free ourselves from the grips of non-renewable, polluting energy and surge forward into a future marked by innovation, energy independence, better environmental stewardship and superb design. The homes we live in are perhaps the biggest obstacles to achieving that goal, and therefore present the greatest opportunity for success. We in Cincinnati saw these challenges and decided to do something about it. That's why we've assembled an expert interdisciplinary team to compete in the Solar Decathlon. With this project, we plan to bring together science and art in the best possible way: by collaborating across disciplinary lines, learning from each other, and perhaps even discovering innovative and beautiful technologies in the process.
