Directors' Choice Showcase 2025

May 19th - August 31st, 2025

First presented as part of DAAPworks, the Directors’ Choice Awards featured highlight outstanding capstone projects and the students that made them.  These projects are awarded based on demonstrated knowledge, creativity, and skill to a focused idea, as well as effectively communicating through visual means.

Annually the directors from the four schools within the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning and the DAAP Galleries review the programs’ project submissions.  The faculty that has worked with these students consistently provide recommendations to the directors to take into consideration. However, the directors may select any project they deem worthy.  After much deliberation, a consensus is reached.

This year a total of 26 Directors’ Choice Awards and four Orville Simpson Futures Awards were bestowed.  These awardees exemplify the values of innovation and purpose that define our college and celebrate the meaningful impact of contributions to DAAP and beyond.
